An honest look at the stresses and strains of working as a pastor or in a leadership position in a church. For a pastor, work and church are ‘the same thing’ in many respects, and in leadership there are many different facets that can create pressures and strain. How does a person keep going for the long term? How do we not lose ourselves in ‘work’? How can we have good relationships with the Lord, with family, and with others while also maintaining our own personal health and well-being? These are some of the issues that Rupert will touch upon.
Rupert has been with us before, to speak on the book of Isaiah. He was born in the Far East to missionary parents and came to faith in the Lord Jesus as a child. After teaching for six years, he entered full time Christian work as a pastor 30 years ago. He has taught the Bible in training courses and has been engaged in preaching and training in north India over many years. He is married to Margie and they have four grown-up children and rather a lot of grandchildren! He is currently involved in Emmanuel Church in Bath.
